Wizards vs. Jazz NBA expert prediction and odds for Monday, March 4 (Back Washington)
By Peter Dewey
The Washington Wizards aren’t going anywhere this season, but they have given bettors something to cheer about on the road going 19-12-1 ATS this season.
Now, the team is on the road against the Utah Jazz, who are quickly seeing their dreams of making the play-in tournament vanish. Utah is 5.5 games back of the Los Angeles Lakers for the No. 10 seed in the West.
Utah has gone with a youth movement, trading away Kelly Olynyk and starting first-round picks Keyonte George and Taylor Hendricks as of late.
Does that give Washington an edge as a road underdog? The Wizards are hoping so, as they’ve lost 14 straight games heading into this one.

Wizards vs. Jazz key players to watch
Washington Wizards
Kyle Kuzma: Since returning from the All-Star break, Kuzma is on fire for Washington, averaging 25.2 points and 8.5 rebounds per game while shooting 51.3 percent from the field and 46.2 percent from 3. He had 26 points on 12-of-24 shooting in his last game against the Jazz.
Utah Jazz
Keyonte George: The Utah rookie is coming into his own, scoring 31 points in the team’s loss to the Miami Heat on Saturday afternoon. He’s averaging 17.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game in eight games since returning to the starting lineup, scoring over 30 points in two of those contests.
Wizards vs. Jazz prediction and pick
The Jazz have been one of the best teams in the league at home – especially as home favorites – going 8-4 ATS in that spot this season.
However, the team doesn’t have Kessler or Markkanen in this matchup – a huge loss to the team’s frontcourt and scoring presence.
Washington covered against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday, and the Jazz are a lot different than they were earlier in the season, playing for development more than winning games.
Utah is just 2-8 in its last 10 games and comes into this matchup on a three-game skid. The Jazz have lost outright to Charlotte, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Golden State Warriors (twice) in four of their last five home games.
Washington might be able to hang around in this game, especially with Kyle Kuzma currently scoring the ball at a high level. There’s a reason Washington is one of the best teams in the NBA as a road dog in the 2023-24 campaign.
Pick: Wizards +6.5 (-112)
