The Washington Wizards haven't been this talked about since John Wall was manning the courts in the DMV.
In fact, Washington may not have even been talked about as much then as they have been over the course of the last couple months.
Between the emergence of rising stars Alex Sarr and Kyshawn George, along with the breakout of rookie standout Tre Johnson, the league-wide perspective of the Wizards slowly but surely changed.
Washington was being considered a team on the rise and with the chance to land yet another premiere prospect in the NBA Draft this offseason, it became clear that the vision that general manager Will Dawkins and President of Monumental Basketball Michael Winger shared aligned with a bright future in the DMV.
Then, on top of the momentum the Wizards' young core was already building, the team's bold acquisitions to acquire Trae Young and Anthony Davis ahead of the NBA trade deadline only added to the excitement brewing in D.C.
Now, with a superstar duo of Young and Davis formed in the Eastern Conference, rumors have begin to swirl about the possibility of the Wizards proving aggressive once again this offseason finding a way to land pending free agent LeBron James for Washington to form a Big 3 of their own.
And by rumors, I mean fans hoping to speak it into existence on social media.

The above is only one of many fans on X pushing for a potential fit for LeBron being the Wizards, and while it may seem crazy now, it might not actually be as far fetched as some would think.
LeBron James to Washington isn't completely unrealistic
Prior to Young being shipped to Washington, fans of the Los Angeles Lakers dreamed about the possibility of adding the premiere point guard in the backcourt alongside James and Davis during their time in L.A.
Obviously, a move never happened, but it was clear that with the Lakers' reported interest in the potential move, LeBron wasn't against the idea of the facilitating guard being a running mate alongside him and Davis.
Now, the landscape of the leage looks drastically different, but the only thing stopping that big 3 from officially being formed is James.
Recent reports have suggested that a split between the future Hall of Famer and the Lakers is inevitable with this offseason seeming as a realistic possibility for the star forward to move on.
At 41, James is still playing at an All-Star level, and while he may not be looking to play for many more seasons, it doesn't seem as a retirement is imminent with Bryce James redshirting his freshman season at Arizona.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are widely expected to be a team in the running for James if he truly does look to move on from the Lakers, and while it makes sense for the Ohio native, it wouldn't be a total shock to see James want to prove his greatness by bringing another championship to Washington.
Is it likely? No.
Should it be ruled out? Also no.
If James expressed any interest, general manager Will Dawkins has already proven to be a mastermind in his new role in the front office and the chance to give his young core a mentor like King James would be too good to pass up,
