The Washington Wizards haven't shied away from making roster moves over the last few seasons and they surely haven't stopped searching for talent up to this point of the season.

Between the blockbuster additions of Trae Young and Anthony Davis, the 10-day signings of Skal Labissiere and Kadary Richmond and the minor roster additions within the margins with the likes of Jaden Hardy coming to mind, Washington has been busy.

Despite the NBA All-Star break, busy season for the Wizards hasn't slowed down.

In fact, the front office pairing of general manager Will Dawkins and President of Monumental Basketball Michael Winger have seemingly used the down tiime to get a jump on the rest of the league by adding a G-League standout to their roster.

Wizards sign Alondes Williams

Since the news that first-year Wizard Cam Whitmore would miss the remainder of the season with a blood clot issue, Washington has been searching for an answer to fill the vacant role the slashing forward left behind.

Washington essentially offered. the first round of tryouts to Capital City Go-Go members in Labissiere and Richmond, but it became clear early on that both players faced an uphill battle to remain on the active roster.

However, the team's latest 10-day signing could have a much higher chance to stick around with the Wizards, especially if he's able to showcase the flashes he's displayed in the G-League in the 10-day stretch he's been guaranteed.

Alondes Williams caught the team's eye after 13 games of promising play with the Go-Go, where he's averaged 20.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists on efficient shooting splits of 46.1% from field goal range and 43.5% from beyond the arc.

The former Wake Forest standout has bounced around the G-League since goung undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Despite struggling to find a role on an active roster up to this point of his career, it's evident that Williams has offered enough flashes to continue receiving opportunities around the league.

Perhaps the high-flying guard just needs the right opportunity for him to truly showcase what he has to offer, and with the Wizards current state of the rebuild with the hopes of still landing a top draft pick this offseason, Washington could be that place for Williams' to put his skillset on full display.

All that to say, while a 10-day contract typically doesn't warrant that much attention, this signing in specifc could be one to closely monitor.
