The Washington Wizards were expected to be very active ahead of Thursday's NBA trade deadline, and so far, they haven't disappointed.
Washington kicked things off on Wednesday by trading away Kyle Kuzma and Patrick Baldwin Jr. to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson and a second-round pick.
With one deal out of the way, it only goes to show that general manager Will Dawkins is both working the phones and prioritizing the team's future by bringing in more young talent to add to the Wizards young core as their rebuild continues.
However, aside from Kuzma's departure, the Wizards still have multiple players at their disposal that could be on the move within the next 24 hours. That said, here's a look at the latest rumors involving the Wizards and what they could be doing behind the scenes ahead of tomorrow's deadline.
Wizards discussing Jonas Valanciunas-Jusuf Nurkic deal with Suns
The Wizards have reportedly discussed a trade that would essentially send veteran big man Jonas Valanciunas to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Jusuf Nurkic.
Reports suggest that Phoenix would then look to move Valanciunas in a separate deal, which brings up the question as to why they'd make this move to begin with? For Phoenix, it's unknown outside of them looking to offload Nurkic's steep contract. Meanwhile, the Wizards would likely make this deal in order to acquire draft picks from the Suns for taking on the center's contract.
In addition to the Suns, the Wizards have received inquiries from multiple other teams about Valanciunas' availability on the market.
Wizards have taken calls on Malcolm Brogdon
Another name on the market for the Wizards is veteran guard Malcolm Brogdon. The 32-year-old has shown all season long that he has plenty to offer playoff bound teams, which has led to multiple teams expressing their interest in him.
Reports suggest that the Los Angeles Lakers and LA Clippers have both gauged the Wizards asking price for the Virginia product.
However, that was before Washington made the move to bring in Khris Middleton who could be an underrated veteran prescensce alongside Brogdon as the two former teammates reunite to lead the Wizards young core.
Nonetheless, with the trade deadline less than 24 hours away, expect the Wizards to make multiple moves as their roster construction continues to take place.
In addition to the rumors, Washington will be back in action on Wednesday against the Brooklyn Nets.
