The Washington Wizards season has been full of disappointment and getting the chance to watch new players suit up for the team.

Fans of the Wizards have seen multiple players suit up for the team throughout this season.

Between the team's moves in the offseason to bring in Malcolm Brogdon and Jonas Valanciunas, to the trade deadline, where the team dealt Valanciunas, Kyle Kuzma, Patrick Baldwin Jr., Marvin Bagley Jr. and Johnny Davis in exchange for new faces like Khris Middleton, Marcus Smart, AJ Johnson and Colby Jones, the Wizards have gotten the chance to watch multiple different players suit up in D.C.

Despite that, one player the team and their fans have yet to see play is Saddiq Bey. However, recent news suggests that may change soon.

Saddiq Bey assigned to G-League team

Saddiq Bey was drafted in the first-round of the 2019 NBA Draft out of Villanova by the Detroit Pistons. The forward showed flashes during his time in DET, but he was dealt to the Atlanta Hawks ahead of the trade deadline in 2023.

The versatile wing impressed during his time with the Hawks, but he ultimately decided to test free agency after his contract was up, which ultimately landed him with the Wizards.

Washington signed Bey to a three-year deal in free agency. Since joining the Wizards, the 25-year-old has yet to suit up for the team as he continues to rehap from an ACL: injury that has sidelined him for several months.

However, the team announced on Friday that Bey was being assigned to the Wizards G-League affiliate. With Bey being assigned to the Capital City Go Go, it shows that a return to action may be closer than originally expected.

Bey has been listed as OUT on the team's injury report since the beginning of the season, but the way the team has talked about his rehab as of recent gave indications that a return could be near.

Obviously he has to prove his knee is fully healed while in the G-League, but if he can show that he's back to full-health, there's a chance he makes his debut on the main roster before the season comes to an end.

Although it's way too late for the team's season to be saved by any reinforcements at this point in the year, but seeing Bey on the floor is a promising sight to see for the Wizards and their fans.
