The Washington Wizards have gained plenty of attention with the variety of moves made by general manager Will Dawkins over the last couple months.

Looking at the veteran addition of CJ McCollum, the incoming draft class headlined by Tre Johnson and the high-upside swing on the trade market with the acquisition of Cam Whitmore, there's plenty of excitment heading into next season for the Wizards.

Between new faces and growing expectations, there's plenty for the fanbase to be excited moving forward.

Not to mention, the continued development of former lottery picks like Bilal Coulibaly, Alex Sarr and Bub Carrington will be a big storyline to monitor as the season progresses.

And while all the above is certainly all valid reasons to be excited about what's to come for the Wizards, the biggest talking point for Washington may be hiding in plain sight and it could be the one thing that transcends the team's rebuild further than any of the above players will.

Kyshawn George is being overlooked

Entering the season, there's plenty of breakout candidates on the Wizards roster that are being discussed as training camp looms.

Obviously, the likes of Sarr and Carrington entering their sophomore campaigns takes the focus, but people seem to be forgetting about Kyshawn George who showed just as much, if not more, flashes of potential last season than either player.

George, a 6-foot-9 forward with underrated athleticism, offensive versatility and the skillset to develop into a star could be poised for a huge season heading into year two, especially if Summer League is a preview of what's to come.

During Summer League play, the Miami product showed signs of his improved jumper and that area of his game is alone something that could propel the oversized guard into an elite category if he becomes an efficient scorer.

With an underrated playmaking ability as a facilitator, an improved jumper and a leap defensively like he showed flashes of potential wise last year could allow for him to develop into the versatile wing the team has desperately been searching for.

And with the injury to Bilal Coulibaly, George could be prepared to show what he has to offer sooner rather than later, especially with his familiarity in Brian Keefe's system.

George deserves more attention heading into the season and if he's the player to breakout for the Wizards this season, don't say you weren't warned ahead of time.
