It's officially mock draft season as the NBA Draft Lottery quickly approaches.
For the Washington Wizards and their fanbase, there's plenty of high expectations for the team to have a huge offseason over the next couple of months with the ammo to make multiple big moves.
By no surprise, all eyes are on the Wizards and their top draft pick as they currently are tied with the Utah Jazz and the Charlotte Hornets for the highest-odds to earn the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.
In this recent mock draft by Sam Vecenie of The Athletic, the Wizards dreams become a reality.
Round 1, Pick 1: G/F Cooper Flagg, Duke
Obviously, every team including the Wizards have their hopes held high for the opportunity to present itself to select Cooper Flagg in the coming months.
The generational talent put together an impressive freshman season at Duke and only added to the hype surrounding him heading into draft season.
If the Wizards are able to land Flagg, not only would this be a win on its own considering the fact that they'd be selecting a cornerstone for their rebuild, but he would also immediately make an attractive destination for players who would jump at the chance to play with the future star.
Round 1, Pick 18: G Egor Demin, BYU
Egor Demin is one of the more raw prospects in this draft class, but many have a lottery grade on the BYU guard. The Russian product averaged 10.6 points, 5.5 assists and 3.9 rebounds in his lone season with the Cougars, and while the stats may not jump out to you as a lottery pick, it's his potential that makes him worthy of a high selection to some.
Demin is a true facilitating guard and while his jumper is a work in progress, if he could develop that part of the game, he has the skillset to be a difference-maker at the next level.
The perfect developmental player for the Wizards to take a swing at.
Round 2, Pick 40 (via PHX): G Milos Uzan, Houston
Milos Uzan would round out the Wizards draft class with their final pick in the second-round, and he'd be well worth the selection.
The 6-foot-4 guard has the potential to be a reliable two-way player at the next level with his defensive versatility and shooting splits of 45.3% from field goal range and 42.8% from three. Uzan could immediately earn minutes for Washington, even as a second-rounder.
