The Bradley Beal situation has come to a bizarre ending for the Phoenix Suns after the team agreed to buyout the guard clearing the way for him to sign with the LA Clippers in free agency.

Looking back at the many questionable decisions made in Washington Wizards history, the most recent mistake from the franchise would have been considered the monster contract they signed Beal to.

That is, until they managed to offload the Florida product's five year, $251 million contract to the Phoenix Suns in one of many moves that officially got things underway for the Wizards long-awaited rebuild.

When Phoenix made the trade to acquire Beal, many thought the addition of the former All-Star would be the move to put them over the top.

On paper, it looked like that would be the case.

There's no way a big three of Devin Booker, Bradley Beal and Kevin Durant could not make a championship run, right? That's what the expectations were at least.

Fast forward to now, Beal's two years with the Suns were beyond the worst seasons of his entire career.

Whether it was fit, arrogance or scheme issues, Beal was never able to translate what he showcased as a member of the Wizards with his new squad in the Western Conference.

As a result, the Suns had been exploring every possible avenue to move off the former top three pick.

Ahead of February's trade deadline, the Wizards seemed like a team willing to take on the contract of Beal just to help out an old friend, for a price of course.

The problem? Beal had all of the leverage courtesy of the no-trade clause the Wizards implemented in the guard's contract.

Beal's reluctance to up and move his family again made it diffucult for the Suns to find a trade partner, especially considering the 32-year-old's steep contract and decline in play.

Now, after moving on from Kevin Durant earlier this offseason, the Suns have proved that they're fully committed to a retool around Devin Booker after opting to buyout Beal.

As for Beal, the former Wizard heads to Los Angeles after signing a two-year, $11 million contract with the Clippers giving him a chance to rejuvenate his career on a contender and prove that his failed tenure in Phoenix was more than just poor play on his part.

Meanwhile, the Wizards and their fanbase have the luxury of sitting back to watch their mistake unfold with zero consequences on their part.
