The Washington Wizards offseason has been full of offseason moves that have been filled with additions and departues.
Between the team's incoming rookie class, free agency signings and acquisitions on the trade market, general manager Will Dawkins has been busy over the course of the last couple months.
Not only does the Wizards depth chart look completely different than it did when the season came to an end in April, but the roster has become a bit crowded courtesy of the offseason moves.
Washington has added a surplus of additions this offseason and with training camp approaching around the corner, the Wizards haven't slowed down.
In fact, Dawkins and the team's front office has seemed to make it a point of emphasis to add as much talent as possible as the season looms, even between the margins.
Wizards continue adding talent as training camp looms
The Wizards announced multiple moves entering the weekend signing former second-round pick Sharife Cooper to a two-way contract, as well as signing guard Keshon Gilbert and Jonathan Pierre to Exhibit 10 contracts.
The Washington Wizards have made the following roster moves, the team announced today:
— Wizards PR (@WizPRStats) September 19, 2025
• Signed guard Sharife Cooper to a two-way contract
• Signed guard Keshon Gilbert and forward Jonathan Pierre to Exhibit 10 contracts
Cooper is an intriguing addition to the Wizards two-way spot with the team set to continue monitoring the guard's development as part of the Capital City Go-Go in the G-League this coming season.
Meanwhile, Gilbert and Pierre will enter training camp with the chance to turn heads and potentially prove worthy of a roster spot, whether that's with the Wizards or another team at some point in the future.
Regardless, whether the recent additions stick or not, the Wizards recent flurry of moves have only proved that there's more moves on the horizon for the team in the coming month.
Prior to the recent additions, Washington was already in a bit of a number predicament with too many rostered players on standard deals.
Now, the several other additions only add to the headache ahead.
Not to mention, there is a real possibility that the Wizards could look to add players who could fall victim to the numbers game across the league.
Washington will have plenty of decisions to make when the preseason nears and end and although the main core of the roster is already in place, the Wizards front office has made it clear that they will jump at every possible opportunity to add talent where they see fit.
That said, this won't be the last time they do exactly that, especially with guaranteed moves on the horizon.
