The NBA trade deadline always brings interesting rumors, but majority of the time only half of those reports deem to be true.

For the Washington Wizards, trade rumors aren't anything new, especially considering the team's recent surge of activity on the trade market over the last few years,

Considering the current state of the Wizards rebuild, Washington has proven willing to take swings on players they deem to be worth the price.

At the same time, Washington has also made it clear that they're more than willing to take on unwanted contracts if it nets them additional draft compensation or young talent in the midst of a deal.

According to Wizards' insider Josh Robbins of The Athletic, the Wizards will be a team to monitor ahead of the deadline in terms of a potential suitor to take on unwanted salaries.

In fact, Robbins provided two names that have been linked as players the Wizards could be willing to absorb the contract of.

The kicker? Both players would quietly be major additions for the Wizards compared to typical salary dumps.

Wizards linked to Jerami Grant, Immanuel Quickly

In a recent article by Robbins, the insider revealed both Jerami Grant of the Portland Trail Blazers and Immanuel Quickley of the Toronto Raptors as two players who could be moved ahead of the deadline.

"Examples of undesirable multi-year contracts thought to be in play by their respective teams include the contracts of Portland’s Jerami Grant and Toronto’s Immanuel Quickley," Robbins said.

Grant is a player that has been widely viewed as a potential trade candidate for the Trail Blazers over the last few seasons.

After landing in Portland as part of the team's efforts to build a contender around Damian Lillard prior to his trade to the Milwaukee Bucks, the Syracuse product has spent the last four seasons as part of the team's rebuilding efforts.

Now, the team could finally be looking to move on from the forward and fully invest in the young core who's shown immense promise through the start of the season.

The 31-year-old is averaging 19.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists on the season, while shooting 43.8% from field goal range and 39.4% from beyond the arc.

As a late addition for a team like the Wizards, Grant could serve as an immediate impact player who could either fit in to the team;s future plans with Trae Young in mind OR serve as a player the Wizards could eventually flip down the road.

Meanwhile, Quickley's name being mentioned seems like the more unlikely of the two potential prospects.

At 26, Quickley has developed into an adequate starter in Toronto, averaging 16.9 points, 6.3 assists and 4.2 rebounds, while shooting 43.5% from field goal range and 35.9% from three.

The former first-round pick may be a player Toronto is looking to move, but the thought of the guard being just a salary dump seems extremely unrealistic.

Although his fit in Washington would offer a boost to the Wizards backcourt, it seems like the more unlikely option of the two names mentioned.
