There's no denying that the Washington Wizards start to the season has been rough to say the least.

Washington has struggled to not only stack wins, but to get a win.

With one lone victory throughout the first month of the NBA regular season, head coach Brian Keefe's frustrations have quickly began to boil over.

Between Keefe calling out his team and issuing a challenge and the eventual players only meeting that followed, Washington is searching for answers that at this point they simply don't have; at least answers they've yet to find.

The Wizards have made efforts to find a jolt in the starting lineup.

Looking at starting lineup changes that consisted of shifting Bub Carrington, Bilal Coulibaly and now Tre Johnson into the backcourt alongside CJ McCollum, the team has yet to find a lineup change that led to a winning formula.

Is it because the team doesn't have the right personnel to find that formula? Or is it simply because the coaching staff is looking in the wrong direction.

It's obvious the Wizards have done an excellent job assembling a strong core of young talent over the last few years.

The team has tried their hand on shifting multiple intriguing prospects in the starting lineup, but they've yet to give arguably the one player with the most upside the opportunity to prove his worth.

Cam Whitmore deserves a crack in the starting lineup

Cam Whitmore entered the league with high upside and was viewed as a player who could develop into a legit star in the right situation.

The wing began his career a stop with the Houston Rockets, where he was met with impatience from a team ready to contend sooner rather than later.

Whitmore's bizarre start to his career led him to Washington, where the Maryland native received the opportunity to suit up for his home team.

Through the start of the season, he's impressed when given an increased workload, and based off the flashes he's shown when called upon, it's fair to wonder why he's yet to earn the same opportunity other players on the roster have.

It's clear the Wizards current starting lineup isn't leading to wins, and while it's a four quarter game, a quick start is important.

Slotting a dynamic scoring wing alongside the likes of Alex Sarr and Kyshawn George, who have emerged for the Wizards this season could be a major boost for Washington out of the gate.

Whitmore could be the answer and if the Wizards realize that, things could turn around for the better.
