Anthony Davis has seemed to make his stance clear behind the scenes that if he had his choice, he wouldn't be sticking around with the Washington Wizards.

Washington hoped that their trade deadline acquisition would help lead their young core to the next step in their rebuild, especially after landing Trae Young just before their addition of AD.

Nonetheless, Davis' media rounds and conversations behind closed doors have suggested that the DMV may not be a place he's willing to buy into.

And that's fine, but he also needs to understand that his trade value is nowhere near what it used to be, and the Wizards went out on a limb themselves by trading for him.

If the Wizards do decide to part ways with the big man, it won't be for free, and finding a trade partner willing to take a swing on an injury-prone veteran will be a tall task.

Nonetheless, given Jake Fischer's report that the Portland Trail Blazers are looking to make a big splash this offseason under new ownership, perhaps the easiest solution is offloading him to the Western Conference version of the Wizards and allowing him to become the Blazers' problem.

Trail Blazers could offer Wizards real value in Anthony Davis trade

Portland showed interest in Davis prior to the Wizards striking a deal with the Dallas Mavericks, and based on rumors surrounding their interest in other superstars around the league, it's clear that the Blazers are looking to make a swing before Damian Lillard comes back.

The Blazers have tried their best to enter the Giannis Antetokounmpo sweepstakes, but all indications suggest that the Greek Freak has no interest in a reunion with Lillard out West.

Jaylen Brown has also come up in conversations as a potential target for Portland, but the possibility that they could land the All-NBA star without a third team is unlikely given the state of the Celtics.

With two swings and two misses on the horizon, perhaps Joe Cronin circles back to the idea of landing Davis.

Washington could find real value in a trade with the Trail Blazers, especially given the young talent on the roster.

Obviously, an incoming package from Portland would almost certainly start with Jerami Grant for salary reasons, but in addition to the veteran forward, the Blazers could offer a mix of Donovan Clingan and one of Shadeon Sharp or Scoot Henderson alongside draft compensation.

The exact outline of a package is unknown, but if the Trail Blazers do swing back around on the idea of acquiring AD, Washington may want to be all ears.
