The Washington Wizards offseason has sparked plenty of conversation about the team's roster moving forward.

Whether it be because of the players Washington brought in headlined by the likes of CJ McCollum, Cam Whitmore and Tre Johnson, or the players the team let go with Marcus Smart, Richaun Holmes and even Blake Wesley coming to mind.

Regardless, nearly every move the team had made brought some type of dicussion to the table.

However, from being one of the most uninteresting teams in the league, to one of the most anticipated and fun groups to watch heading into next season, the turnaround for the Wizards can't be overlooked.

Over the course of the offseason, Wizards' general manager Will Dawkins has proven that he's not scared to be aggressive and if he feels that a trade will benefit his team, he'll pull the trigger.

Assuming that trend will continue, Washington would be wise to take a look at what an Eastern Conference rival has been doing over the last couple weeks and find a way to take advantage of their latest strategy.

Wizards should capitalize on Knicks roster construction

The New York Knicks have made it clear that with the Eastern Conference wide open next season, their championship aspirations are serious.

New York has made a variety of win now moves this offseason, including the additions of Jordan Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele.

Two winning moves, that not only addressed serious bench concerns for the Knicks, but gave them plenty of options heading into next season.

However, the Knicks didn't stop there. Over the last week, New York made a couple more additions signing both Malcolm Brogdon and Landry Shamet to contracts with the chance to earn a roster spot.

Brogdon's Sixth Man of the Year history allows for the signing to make plenty of sense; as does Shamet's history with New York.

However, if you didn't notice the trend, that's two former Wizards in the last week that New York has targeted.

And if the Knicks are still interested in bench depth, Washington has several players that could be custom to a change of scenery.

Between the likes of Corey Kispert and Justin Champagnie, both wings could immediately add a level of scoring to the Knicks' bench that would only prove beneficial.

That said, if Washington was looking to move any players, the Knicks would be the first team to target, especially with the likes of young talent like Tyler Kolek being available.
