Giannis Antetokounmpo has been in headlines since the Milwaukee Bucks were knocked out the first round of the NBA Playoffs in April.

The former MVP winner is in the midst of his prime and he's made it clear that contending for a championship will be his upmost priority at every stage of his career.

Milwaukee's ina bility to build a contending team around him since the team's championship run in 2021 has slowly but surely aded fuel to the fire that eventually, the Greek Freak could ask out.

In fact, Antetokounmpo has yet to decline that asking out in the future is a realistic possibility.

The star forward has made it clear that if he feels like he doesn't have a chance to contend in Milwaukee, he'll do what he feels is necessary to find his way on a contending roster one way or another.

Obviously, that stirs the pot about which team could potentially put a deal together to not only land Antetokounmpo, but entice the versatile wing to plant his roots in their city to help build a contender.

At first glance, team's like the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder obviously come to mind.

Top teams, with big markets and a track record of being aggressive on the trade market.

Teams like the Washington Wizards will never be realistically talked about as an option...but they should.

Washington has quietly positioned themselves to make an aggressive move in the near future.

With the Wizards financial flexibility with plenty of cap space following this season, an abundance of future draft picks and several young prospects on the roster, Washington has everything at their disposal to make a blockbuster move; or at least attempt to.

But why would Antetokounmpo ever consider coming to D.C. you may ask?

Well, Antetokounmpo could take charge of his own situation and make a move similar to what Kevin Durant did when he joined the Brooklyn Nets.

Durant inked a deal with Brooklyn, which was shortly followed by the signing of Kyrie Irving and several other major moves.

The forward had a blueprint to build a contending team around him and he went to an organization that had the ability to give him that opportunity.

Washington could be the exact type of organization that's desperate enough to bring a championship home to the DMV, that they'd do everything possible to not only land Antetokounmpo, but give him the ability to build a team of his choosing around him.
