The Washington Wizards have plenty of young talent on the roster as their long awaited rebuild continues.

Washington's abundance of young talent conmes as the result of the team's continous cycle of medicority over the last few years.

Since the departure of John Wall and Bradley Beal, the Wizards haven't exactly had a cornerstone that they could build around.

With no building block in place, it's caused the Wizards to take swings on potential hoping that eventually one of their swings would lead to a home run and award them with a player that they could rely on not only now, but for the long-term future.

However, the Wizards haven't exactly found that player yet, which has caused them to explore every avenue possible this offseason to bring in an abundance of talent with the hopes that eventually one player can step up and prove to be the guy.

Between former No. 2 overall pick Alex Sarr and reigning No. 6 overall pick Tre Johnson, all eyes are on the Wizards two top 10 picks to be the most likely players to develop into the prospect the team can build around.

And while there's still plenty of optimism remaining about the future for Sarr, Johnson and the rest of the Wizards young core, it may be time for the Wizards to face the hard truth about Bilal Coulibaly's future in Washington.

Coulibaly was selected with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, but Washington has yet to see any of the progress they hoped they would from the French product.

The oversized guard entered the league with a unique frame and skillset that gave hope he could develop into one of the best two-way players in the league.

Unfortunately, not only has his defensive instincts gotten him in foul trouble throughout the first two years of his career, but his offensive struggles have only put more pressure on his defensive game.

After his sophomore season was cut short, the hope was that Coulibaly could show promise during his run with Team France in EuroBasket play.

However, more of the same issues once again showed up and Coulibaly not only struggled, but he looked atrocious during his run with Team France.

if that's any preview of what the Wizards can expect to see from the guard in year 3, Washington may be best to just field calls on the former top 10 pick on the trade market.

Giving up on players too soon is often scary like the Wizards did with Deni Avdij, but at this point, a change of scenery may be best for both sides if no improvement is made when the season begins, especially with Cam Whitmore and Tre Johnson incoming,
