The Washington Wizards seem to be on the verge of trading for Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young.

Young listed Washington as his preferred landing spot on Wednesday afternoon after reports surfaced that he and his camp were working alongside the Hawks' front office with the hopes of finding a suitable destination for him to continue his career.

Following the report, it seemed as if a deal between the two squads was set to happen sooner rather than later, especially after Young and Wizards' veteran CJ McCollum were both added to each team's injury report for Wednesday night deeming them as out.

McCollum, who's quietly served as a true mentor for the Wizards young core, was always expected to be moved ahead of February's trade deadline if Washington was able to find a suitor.

Considering the Hawks' interest in acquiring McCollum from the Portland Trail Blazers prior to him landing in New Orleans, it was expected that the guard would be the focal point of any potential deal, especially considering his expiring yet lucrative contract.

However, it was unclear who else could be involved in a potential trade package as the Wizards have a roster full of young talent that could prove to be intriguing..

Nonetheless, recent updates suggests that a trade is not only imminent, but the package has been revealed.

Corey Kispert targeted by ATL, ruled out Wednesday

Reports from NBA Insider Marc Stein revealed that the Hawks were targeting former first-round pick Corey Kispert in any deal with the Wizards.

The 3-and-D sharpshooter would be an extremely beneficial addition to a Hawks team who has playoff aspirations of their own moving forward without Young.

With McCollum and Kispert in a package, not only do the salaries work, but it would make sense for both sides with Atlanta landing a savvy vet in McCollum and Kispert, who is on a team-friendly contract and can contribute right away.

As for the Wizards, they finally land a star point guard that can command the offense like head coach Brian Keefe has hoped.

Furthermore, the Wizards injury report already ruled McCollum out of Wednesday's matchup which alone made it seem that a trade could be imminent.

However, following the news that Kispert was the real target for Atlanta, Washington's 6 PM injury update for tonight's matchup featured a new addition.

That addition? Kispert, who was ruled out for "injury management."

A deal seems to be on the verge of being completed and the package has all but been fully revealed at this point.
