It doesn't matter how many times the Washington Wizards come out and say that Anthony Davis will be in D.C. when the regular season starts, several teams in the league are still hoping to call their bluff and make a trade for the two-way star.

The most rumored suitor for AD as of the last couple of weeks has been the Golden State Warriors, who have constructed a master plan to potentially form a Hall of Fame lineup with Davis alongside Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and hopefully LeBron James.

For Golden State, their plan is a solid one, and it's safe to say that if injuries weren't a factor next season, that lineup, mixed with the team's depth, could give Curry and James a chance to make a run to solidify both of their careers with another championship.

The only problem, though, is the Wizards have no incentive to help facilitate that plan, and based on the recent comments from general manager Will Dawkins, Davis won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Will Dawkins shuts down Anthony Davis trade talk

In a recent interview on SiriusXM NBA Radio, Dawkins addressed the current state of the Wizards, talking about AJ Dybantsa, Trae Young's extension, and where things stand with Davis amid the trade rumors.

Dawkins put all the noise to rest with one blunt response regarding what the future holds for AD.

"Don't worry too much about that stuff," Dawkins said. "AD's in D.C., wants to be in D.C., and we're gonna keep him there...He was out here [Summer League] with all our guys; we had all 17 guys here, and he was a big part of what we had going on, leading our group workouts."

Davis's presence at Summer League alone indicated that he was indeed buying into what was being built in the DMV.

No player would show up to support a group of young guys on a team they have no plans to be around, and you mixed that with the fact Washington seems eager to offer him the contract extension AD is looking for this summer, it suggests that he won't be going anywhere.

Not to mention, Washington has legitimate plans to compete in the Eastern Conference this season, and based on their revamped depth chart, there's a strong case for why they could be the biggest sleeper in the East.

Davis wants to be a part of that, and unless he says otherwise, count on AD being in the DMV.
