As the NBA trade deadline approaches quickly, most people have their eyes set on the Washington Wizards being among the biggest sellers at the deadline.
With players like Kyle Kuzma, Jonas Valanciunas, Malcolm Brogdon and even potentially Jordan Poole in position to be moved, the Wizards could be one of the more active teams come Thursday as general manager Will Dawkins continues to set the young roster up for the team's much needed future rebuild.
However, while Washington seems positioned for a complete roster shakeup ahead of the deadline, the betting sites seem to think that the Wizards could be in position to make one of the more surprise moves of the season.
Wizards betting favorites to land Kevin Durant
Over the last 24 hours, rumors have surfaced that the Phoenix Suns could be listening to offers for superstar Kevin Durant as they continue to navigate their team's future following yet another frustrating year for a roster that should without a doubt be contending for an NBA Championship.
Of the teams mentioned to be interested in acquiring Kevin Durant is none other than the Golden State Warriors and potentially the Miami Heat who have a saga of their own to resolve with Jimmy Butler's pending trade request.
However, one team that wasn't listed as a landing spot for Durant, and in no way shape or form should be in position to make a move for the 35 year old is the Wizards.

Durant is from Washington D.C. and there's no denying the fact that he keeps tabs with his hometown teams like the Wizards and the Commanders. Despite that, with the Wizards in the midst of a rebuild, there's no reason for a fit to make sense for either side.
Not only is Durant 35 and doesn't fit the timeline for the Wizards moving forward, but there's no way that Washington could build a contending team around the forward. They struggled to lure free agents to D.C. in the past, and even with KD on the roster, it would be hard to persuade any impending free agents that this team could be contending for an NBA championship any time soon.
It's clear that this move is highly unlikely, but it's interesting for bettors to even consider the Wizards to be on this list, especially as the favorites to land Durant.
However, in the NBA surprises come everyday, especially considering the recent Luka Doncic move to Los Angeles.
