As the NBA trade deadline approaches, the Washington Wizards have plenty of eyes on them.
With several trade candidates on the roster, mixed with the fact that Washington has already proven to be one of the most aggressive teams on the trade front both throughout the offseason and already this season with their blockbuster trade for Trae Young, it's safe to assume another move could be on the horizon.
Not to mention, Washington was one of the most active teams ahead of the trade deadline last offseason, landing several unwanted contracts with the likes of Khris Middleton and Marcus Smart coming to mind.
Fast forward to now, Middleton finds himself as one of the Wizards' top candidates to be moved as Washington looks for the opportunity to offload the forward's expiring contract.
In addition to Middleton, yet another player who found himself as part of the Wizards' trade deadline frenzy from last season could be back on the trade block this time around, but for different reasons.
Marvin Bagley III is a realistic trade candidate for Wizards
Marvin Bagley III spent the last two season with the Wizards, where he served as a depth piece in the front court in a limited role.
Amid the team's trade moves last February, the former No. 2 overall pick found himself being shipped to the Memphis Grizzlies, where he finished his season before entering unrestricted free agency.
When free agency began, Bagley took many be surprise by re-signing with the Wizards; the team who had just shipped him out of town months prior.
Many expected the big man's stint in D.C. to follow a similar route this time around, but up to this point of the season, the Duke product has proven to be an impact player for Brian Keefe's squad.
Averaging 10.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists, while shooting 61.9% from field goal range and 38.9% from beyond the arc, Bagley has proven to be a viable bench option and a servicable spot starter for the Wizards.
With rumors of several playoff caliber teams looking at frontcourt upgrades, Bagley's name has consistently come up as an option.
Now, with the Wizards recent signing of Skal Labissiere to a 10-day contract, it seems as if Washington's front office is testing the waters on potential frontcourt options to fill the void for Bagley if and when he's dealt ahead of the NBA trade deadline.
