The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski recently reported the Washington Wizards would part ways with their first round draft pick for additional bench help.

Really, outside of that, the Wizards don’t have much to offer.

Washington is going keep their core together. John Wall, Bradley Beal and Otto Porter are untouchable. It’s going to take a lot to pry Marcin Gortat and Markieff Morris away, too, since they’re on friendly contracts.

And teams aren’t calling about Andrew Nicholson‘s availability, trust me.

The only other intriguing trade option is Kelly Oubre, who Scott Brooks is really high on. Washington will keep Oubre, unless they could package him for a star in return, I’m assuming.

That leaves them with their first round pick, which is projected to be 23rd overall.

The Wizards would probably like to package one of their bad contracts with the pick for another scorer. They’re rumored to have interest in Lou Williams and Bojan Bogdanovic – both of whom would be welcomed additions in D.C.

The Lakers and Nets are rebuilding and are looking to stockpile picks. Both Williams and Bogdanovic are productive, but don’t have long-term futures with their respective teams. Instead of stringing them along, the Lakers and Nets could get a draft pick in return.
