Washington Wizards small forward Otto Porter has been offered a max contract by the Sacramento Kings according to Chris Haynes of ESPN. It hasn’t been confirmed whether Porter has signed the offer sheet, but the Wizards would have 48 hours to match, starting on July 6th.

Otto Porter has a deal. Well, at least an offer. Reports from Chris Haynes and Marc Spears of ESPN indicate that Porter was offered a max contract. Sacramento, like every team except the Wizards, can only offer Porter a 4-year deal.

It was reported earlier that Porter would be meeting with the Kings on Sunday, and it seems the meeting went as planned. It was only a matter of when, not if, Porter would receive a max contract offer.

As he’s a restricted free agent, the Wizards will have 48 hours to match, and that countdown will start on July 6.

The numbers surrounding the potential offer were somewhat cloudy before free agency started, but it seems that the max 4-year offer comes in at $106 million.

If Porter hasn’t signed the offer yet, it could mean that he’s hoping to still negotiate with Washington, who could offer him a fifth year, which he and his agent may covet.

Either way, it seems the clock is ticking.
