Washington Wizards guard John Wall showcased more of what he’s been doing this summer in episode 3 of the No Off Season series on ballislife.com.
The #WallWay is becoming more than just a hashtag.
If you’ve watched any of John Wall‘s docu-series “No Off Season,” it’s obviously clear who will run Washington for the next few years.
The third installment, released on Monday, transitioned nicely from the second episode that featured a one-on-one clinic in which Wall acts as the sensei to the ‘young grasshopper’ guard Sheldon Mac, then embarrasses some dude during a Miami Pro League game.
Here’s the two noteworthy moments from this week’s episode.
A no-look drill?
Any real hooper knows the consequences of trying to be flashy when passing in game situations. Only the most trusted guys can get away with no-look dishes without worrying about their coach berating them. Wall has made a living off such plays, but it’s by no coincidence.
After another three-workout day, he starts his individual drills. This time around, we see the second-leading assist man in the NBA last season standing at the top of the key with his back turned to the basket chucking passes over his shoulder, around his back and even through one leg, landing directly to guys set up in the corners.
It’s no wonder Wall has come to be so confident in his ability to set his teammates up in style.
Max extension press conference
Wall arrives at a private Miami airport at 6:46 a.m. on Friday, to take a two-hour flight to D.C. for a press conference recognizing the signing of his max extension last month.
The day consists of a few quick photos with the new Nike jerseys, some sound bites for television and radio, followed by a couple of endearing moments with some family members in attendance. Then, it’s off to the airport again as Wall boards the jet and gets back to Miami at 7:00 p.m. for a late workout.
Lighting up random dudes in the Pro League one night. Waking up to “three-and-a-half”-a-days the next. Flying to D.C. in a private jet, only to return the same night for more workouts. This is what an off season looks like for a 26-year-old franchise leader that hopes to be the “greatest Wizards player of all time.”
