Washington Wizards fans will get their first look at the 2017-18 team on September 26, when training camp opens in Richmond.

This marks the second straight year camp will be held there, the longest streak since it was held there from 2003-2009.  The previous stops over the last few years have been at Towson University and George Mason University.

Here’s what you need to know about this year’s festivities.

Who?

A healthy John Wall will lead the guys from the Nation’s capital into Virginia’s capital.

Wall will push his peers, especially the guards. The team signed and invited two backcourt players to the camp over the past couple of months.

The Wizards agreed to terms with veteran guard Donald Sloan on Aug. 17.

Earlier this month, the team signed G-League guard Carrick Felix.

Both Sloan and Felix will have stiff competition at a position that already boasts starters Wall and Bradley Beal, and backup guards Tim Frazier, Tomas Satoransky, Jodie Meeks and Sheldon Mac.

The two recent add-ons are long shots to make the final roster–especially Felix–but their play in Richmond will be a great opportunity to make an important first impression.

What?

Last year, fans were treated to free giveaways, autograph sessions and loads of entertainment at their annual open practice.  This event culminated with thrilling half-court and dunk contests.

Expect more of the same this year.

The team will also hold five practices throughout the week that will be closed to the public.

When?

The Wizards closed camp practices will start on Tuesday, Sept. 26 and end on Sept. 30.

This year’s open practice is on Friday, Sept. 29 at 6:00 p.m.

Fans should get there early to catch any freebies given to the first handful of people.

Where?

Siegel Center on the Virginia Commonwealth University campus.
