Otto Porter had a great game

Otto Porter looked like the Porter that lit up Golden State earlier this season.

He led all Wizards scorers with 27 points, recording a double-double with his 11 rebounds. This was a night where he was the best Wizard on the floor, and the second-best player on the court.

There were times when the ball should have been his hands more because he was hot, but he remained very aggressive on the boards and had key rebounds.

Porter would put the Wizards up 94-93 with 53.3 seconds left in regulation with a clutch jumper.

A little after that play he was fouled. He was cool as cucumber at the free throw line. After knocking down his first shot, the referee was holding the ball for a little while. Porter motioned to the ref to give him the ball. Swoosh his second shot went in. Putting the Wizards up 98-95. Just ice in Porter’s vein tonight, pure ice.

Porter knocked down three 3-pointers and was perfect from the free throw line, 6-for-6.

Brooks called for Beal to take the last shot after the game was knotted, 98-98. However, it was Porter who had the hot shooting hand on Thursday, he should’ve taken the last shot.

Satoransky put in another efficient showing and held his own. But he was the only Wizards’ starter not to see the free throw line.

Sato knocked down two shots from three-point range, and ended with 14 points and 4 assists.

Irving would end the game leading all scorers with 28 points and 6 assists. He doesn’t need to have a high assist ratio because most of the Celtics players can create their own shots. Especially, second-year player Jaylen Brown who was on fire from the 3-point line, 3-for-3, and finished the game with 18 points.

Beal finished the game with 18 points, shooting 7-for-27 from the field, and five rebounds. He knocked down three shots from 3-point range.

Keef, who would foul out in overtime, had nine points, including a pair of threes. While Marcin Gortat recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Wizards played a good game, but lacked confidence to close it out.

Postgame notes:

Brooks after the game on overcoming the ten-point deficit in the fourth quarter :

"“Resiliency. We just kept fighting, kept playing for each other and gave us a chance. We had 22 turnovers for 24 points. That’s hard to overcome and we just about overcame. We were up three with the foul at the end. They called foul, they got three free throws. He [Kyrie Irving] stepped up and made all three, and we had the last shot. I thought Brad [Beal] got knocked off balance. I thought he probably could have pulled up for the shot right there. Got to live with that.”"

On Saturday, the Wizards travel to Chicago to take on the Bulls.
