142. . PG. (2010-present). John Wall. 5. player

John Wall is the last first overall pick by the Wizards and it’s shown with the body of work he’s built. He was drafted out of the University of Kentucky after a solid freshman year that saw him average 16.6 points, 6.5 assists and 4.3 rebounds per contest and took home the SEC Player of the Year Award and Rupp Trophy.

Wall was selected to the 2010-11 All-Rookie team during his first year in the league. He put up 16.4 points, 8.3 assists 4.6 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game as a rookie. He was an All-Defensive Second-Team selection during the 2014-15 season. After the 2016-17, he earned All-NBA Third Team honors, the first time he earned All-NBA honors as he enters his 10th season in the league.

The explosive 6-foot-4 point guard is averaging 18.9 points, 9.2 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 1.7 steals through 541 appearances with the Wizards. He became the third player in NBA history to average at least 20 points, 10 assists and two steals per game after the 2016-17 season.

He scored a career-high 52 points on Dec. 6, 2017 against the Orlando Magic and set his career-high mark in his assists at 20 against the Chicago Bulls back on March 17, 2017. Wall and Rod Strickland are the only players in team history to record 20 assists in a game.

So far, he holds the franchise record for total assists (5,003) and total steals (927) as well as the franchise single-season assist record (831), which was previously held by former point guard Rod Strickland. He’ll go down as arguably the best point guard in franchise history by the end of it with his profile growing in 2018-19 and with the arrival of Dwight Howard.
