The Washington Wizards are no stranger to being a major name ahead of the NBA trade deadline. This year is no different as Kyle Kuzma reportedly wants out and is unlikely to resign in the offseason. The lack of success from the team mixed with these kinds of reports have fans buzzing all over social media about various trade ideas.

Naturally with the ever famous “Twitter GMs” there are bound to be quite a few outlandish trade ideas that will never happen. However, a recent idea from the Fanspo official Twitter seems incredibly intriguing.

Moving for Deandre Ayton would make a lot of sense for the Washington Wizards who are looking to put together a long-term competing team. Adding a young center as talented as Ayton on that type of contract is perfect for that goal.

Pairing a player like Deandre Ayton, a versatile big in the post with Kristaps Porzingis, a versatile big from the perimeter, would create the best frontcourt in the league. If they could add a better back up big in free agency with their new roster space, it would be even better.

The only issue with the trade for the Wizards is the inclusion of Rui Hachimura. His recent play has caused many fans to put their belief back into the forward. The Wizards could and should be hesitant to trade him.

A much better, and more likely choice would be Delon Wright. Even though he has been integral part of the Wizards’ defensive gameplan, he is much older than Hachimura. His timeline fits what the Phoenix Suns are trying to do much better than Hachimura does and is a better fit for the Suns current roster.

Speaking of the Suns, this move would be great for them. They unload a contract that holds them back as any center can see success in their system. For example, JaVale McGee had one of the best seasons of his career last season with the Suns.

Due to this strength in their system, downgrading to Gafford while also upgrading the rest of the starting five and bench could help them finally achieve their goal of a championship.

Overall, this trade seems like a win for both the Washington Wizards and the Phoenix Suns as both teams look to position themselves for greater team success in the near future.
