The Washington Wizards made bold swings ahead of the NBA trade deadline with the blockbuster trades for four-time All-Star Trae Young and a member of the NBA 75th Anniversary in Anthony Davis.

Washington's deadline moves came with the hope of returning to contention in the Eastern Conference along the way, but during the process, the team may have inadvertently taken steps in having their reputation rewritten as a whole.

Davis is one of those players whose opinions carry weight, especially considering what he's accomplished during his career up to this point.

The star forward's fresh start in Washington was met with a lot of question marks, some even raised by him.

However, over the last few weeks, the big man has openly stated how impressed he's been with his restart in D.C., especially behind the curtains when it comes to the team's infrastucture.

And following his comments on ABC News, he could be doing more for the franchise than he'll ever know.

Anthony Davis shines light on how special Washington is

When asked about his early thoughts on the Wizards and the city during an interview with ABC News, Davis opened up and gave the best answer he could have:

"The city is phenomenal," Davis opened with. "D.C. is, anytime I've been there, you know, obviously, on other teams traveling and playing on the road, it's been great. Food is great, the city is great, energy is great."

"And the team, they're young, have a lot of great young players. “From the outside looking in, it can look a little different, maybe not what people expect, especially players, but when you get there, it’s actually a great organization, and that’s what I realized. These young players are hungry; they get after it. They want to win, and that's all you can ask for.”

AD is going to reset the stigma

Davis buying into what the Wizards are building is going to be huge, especially when he's making public comments like this about an organization that's grown notorious for their reputation built at the bottom of the NBA standings.

The more comments like this rise to the surface, the quicker D.C. becomes an attractive destination to other players, and when the team manages to put it all together, there will be no looking back.

Washington has it all, and with the nation's capital being embraced by one of the best players to ever suit up, it speaks volumes about what's going on in the DMV.
