The Anthony Davis era in Washington has yet to begin as the future Hall of Fame big man continues to recover from an injury suffered during his time with the Dallas Mavericks.
Davis arrived in Washington in a blockbuster trade ahead of the deadline, where he originally stayed behind in Dallas to continue rehabbing with doctors.
Following the NBA All-Star Break, the Kentucky product joined his new team, where the Wizards were able to get a more in depth answer on Davis' potential return to action.
General manager Will Dawkins has made it clear that the intent remains for both Trae Young and Davis to see the court before the Wizards season comes to a close.
With Young's debut already in the past, all eyes shift towards Davis as his first game in Wizards' threads yet to be scheduled.
Unfortunately, based on Washington's recent update on the star, fans may not want to hold their breath.

After originally being ruled out for the remainder of the regular season dating back to his time with the Mavericks, the possibility of the playmaker making a return this season is already an extremely positive sign.
Still, Washington has no incentive to rush the big man back to action, and because of that, the Wizards will make sure he's 100% cleared before his debut.
And while that may not be the news fans want to hear, it may be whats best for now as the team continues their pursuit of a top draft pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
The silver lining though? Just because Davis won't suit up in March, doesn't mean there's not a chance he won't play in April.
AD still has time to debut
A debut this late in the season doesn't really mean much of anything, but it wouldn't be a shock to see Washington at least attempt to see a glimpse at their new superstar duo on the court together.
Davis will have seven games to potentially make his debut with the Wizards in April.
Fans likely shouldn't expect a debut to come this season, but considering there's still multiple opportunities for the former No. 1 overall pick to hit the court, there's at least some reason to hold out hope that it happens this year.
