The Washington Wizards have been the talking point of the league over the last few months and for a change, it hasn't been all bad news.

After years of being considered the laughing stock of the league, Washington finally seems to be a team on the rise and an organization that many around the league are starting to take notice of.

With a talented young core, a new superstar duo and a front office regime who seems to have a vision that the fanbase can rally behind, the Wizards have plenty of momentum behind their rebuild.

And based on this recent update, they just received yet another boost of momentum by this player's prescence alone.

Anthony Davis officially joins the Wizards

Anthony Davis joined Trae Young as the Wizards' huge swings ahead of the NBA trade deadline.

Young has been with the Wizards for over a month now, as he's continued his MCL rehab in DMV showing support to his new team, where fans have already gotten the chance to interact with him on the sidelines.

However, that same experience hasn't come for Davis and fans yet, as the big man reportedly stayed behind in Dallas after the deal to remain with the doctors, who he's been working alongside through the recovery to his hand injury suffered with the Mavericks.

General manager Will Dawkins originally said that Davis would rejoin the team after the NBA All Star Break, but it appears that the former No. 1 overall pick joined the team sooner than he was expected to.

Davis joined the Wizards at practice on Wednesday as the team gears back up for the back half of the regular season with their first game post All-Star break coming on Thursday against the Pacers.

Obviously, the newest Wizard isn't expected to be in action and there's no official timetable on when his return to the court will be.

Despite that, the future Hall of Famer's presence on the court alone will be major for the team's young players and the fanbase who's impatiently waiting to see the star represent the team on the sidelines.

With Davis in attendance, the chance for him to work with his new teammates, especially players like Alex Sarr will be vital for the team's growth for the final 29 games of the season.

Regardless, it appears fans will have the chance to interact with Davis soon with his arrival in D.C.
