The Washington Wizards find themselves at an interest point of the rebuild moving forward.
Washington currently sits at the bottom of the NBA standings with the second-worst record in the league at 14-39.
The Wizards have built a strong foundation with their young core built around the likes of emerging sophomore Alex Sarr and Kyshawn George.
Not to mention, the recent breakout of rookie guard Tre Johnson only adds to the excitement brewing in the DMV.
Beyond that, the Wizards are poised to add yet another premiere talent to their roster this offseason in what many are considering one of the deepest NBA Drafts in recent years.
Still, the fanbase is still impatiently waiting on the debut of their new superstar duo of Trae Young and Anthony Davis, who the team acquired in blockbuster trades ahead of the NBA trade deadline.
Unfortunately, that waiting game is expected to continue based on recent updates from the team.
Trae Young & AD still not cleared for contact
As the NBA All Star Break nears an end, the Wizards have officially returned to practice.
Washington is set to return to action on Thursday in a home battle against the Indiana Pacers, but they'll be without both Young and Davis.
In fact, it seems as if the team will be without their new star duo for the forseeable future.
According to Josh Robbins of The Athletic, head coach Brian Keefe offered updates on both Davis and Young ahead of practice.
After confirming that the Wizards' new star big man has officially join the Wizards in Washington, Keefe clarified that while the Kentucky product was in attendance, he did not participate in any drills.
In addition, Keefe offered an update on Young, revealing that the guard still hasn't been cleared for contact as he continues to recover from an MCL injury that has sidelined him the majority of the season.
Trae Young did not practice today. "He's still not cleared for contact yet," Wizards coach Brian Keefe said when asked about Young.

Obviously, for fans hoping to see the debut of the team's newest additions this season, these updated will be considered bad news
However, in terms of the team's potential to land a top draft pick this offseason, it may be in the team's best interest to allow for the Wizards young players and their development to continue being the priority down the stretch of the season.
Allowing for both Young and Davis to return next season at 100%, alongside an already talented young group and a potential top prospect, the Wizards will be in good hands moving forward.
