The Washington Wizards addition of Trae Young at the NBA trade deadline offered plenty of positives, especially in regards to the direction the team plans to move in moving forward.

Shortly after the addition of Young, Washington's blockbuster moves continued with the huge swing to land future Hall of Famer Anthony Davis in a stunning move that put the league on notice.

With one of the best playmaking point guard's set to man the offense, the vision for how Young would fit alongside the likes of Davis, emerging star Alex Sarr and even standout rookie Tre Johnson all came to mind.

And while there's plenty to like about Young's fit alongside each of the players mentioned above, arguably the one player not mentioned has already proven to be the biggest winner of the four-time All-Star's arrival in the DMV.

That player? Bilal Coulibaly.

Bilal Coulibaly is thriving next to Trae Young

There's no doubt that the start of Coulibaly's career has offered some frustrating moments, even throughout the moments where his flashes stood out to a fanbase who had high hopes in the French product's two-way ability.

As a defender, Coulibaly has the size, instincts and versatility to be one of the most suffocating defensive players the league has to offer.

Offensively though, the oversized guard has struggled to showcase consistency in the one area of his game the team hoped he could develop through his career.

However, in the limited games he's played alongside his new star teammate Trae Young, Coulibaly has looked like a completely different player.

In fact, he's shown the exact flashes that the team hoped he could, averaging 16.8 points and 4.8 rebounds, while shooting 44.4% from field goal range and 41.4% from beyond the arc.

And while it may be a small sample size, it's worth noting that in the games Young has suited up alongside Coulibaly, he's looked like a completely different player with immense confidence.

Young's impact is already changing the team's future

Coulibaly's recent emergence is only the first domino to fall in what the team hopes Young's arrival can do to the team's future.

The more games he plays, the more obvious it is that his presence alone creates more opportunities for his teammates.

Whether that's because of his IQ, the attention he draws from opposing defenses or simply his next-level ability to create for others, Young has already unlocked something in Coulibaly that the front office hopes he can do with multiple other young players already on the roster.

Not to mention, his eventual pairing alongside Anthony Davis has the potential to take the team to new heights.
