The Washington Wizards haven't had much of anything positive to talk about this season.

At one time, the team seem destined to land the top prospect in the upcoming NBA Draft Cooper Flagg. However, Washington put a wrinkle in that plan when they decided to randomly win games throughout a recent stretch in March.

The team did a solid job keeping the hopes alive after their rough stretch and 2-8 record over their last 10 games. Even then, they still have to avoid the tragedy of losing the top pick to the Utah Jazz or another team in the NBA Draft Lottery.

Not to mention, for the Wizards to draft Flagg, the Duke star would have to declare for the NBA Draft And with recent reports suggesting Flagg's camp would return to college if the Wizards were to earn the top pick, it put a bit of a damper in the fanbases future hopes..

Moving forward, there's still a lot for the team to look forward to, even if they can't land Flagg. The future in Washington is bright. In fact, it may be brighter than many people realize.

And if you don't believe me, maybe you'll believe the newst Hall of Fame inductee, who seems to see that too.

Carmelo Anthony interested in joining ownership of Wizards

On Wednesday, it was announced that Carmelo Anthony had been elected into the Naismith Hall of Fame Class of 2025. After a lengthy career with many accolades, it comes as no surprise that the talented forward finds his name in the Hall of Fame.

Throughout his 19 year career, Anthony averaged 22.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists playing for multiple teams including the Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers.

Obviously, Anthony's career was a sucess, but what does it have to do with the Wizards you may be wondering?

Well, Anthony announced on a recent episode of his podcast "7PM in Brooklyn" that he has interest in buying the Wizards.

"I want to buy the Wizards," Anthony said. "I would be a great owner. Former player. I understand players. I understand personnel, I understand being fatigued. I understand how to build teams, but I also understand what I don't understand. I know what I don't know. You also have to put people in those positions. President, GM, you put all the basketball acumen in those positions, and then you cover that with business model."

Whether Anthony will seriously pursue ownership in the team is still unclear, but what is clear is that even after his Hall of Fame induction, the NBA Legend has goals post basketball.
