The Washington Wizards haven't had much positives to take away from the team's trying start to the season.

For a fanbase that has desperately been searching for a light at the end of the tunnel of this rebuilding process, the emergence of second-year man Alex Sarr has given the fanbase hope that the team may be moving in the right direction,

The French product put together an underwhelming rookie season, at least in terms of offensive efficiency.

Struggling to excel in the areas of his game that most 7-footers thrive in, many skeptics were out on the possibility that the big man would be able to turn things around heading into this season.

Labeling Sarr as a bust early into his rookie season, it became evident early on that the Wizards forward would be stuck trying to silence the noise of his doubters for years to come.

Following a mostly full offseason to work on his game, Sarr's sophomore leap has given the team's front office a sense of validation that they may have dodged a bullet that their bad luck left for them to take when they earned the No. 2 overall pick in one of the weakest NBA Drafts in recent years.

Averaging 19.1 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3,3 assists, while shooting 51.5% from field goal range and 34.6% from beyond the arc, Sarr looks like a completely different player than he showed as a rookie.

In fact, he looks like the future All-Star the Wizards have desperately been waiting for.

Despite that, the big man still has plenty of critics who still don't believe in his talents.

Sarr's efforts to silence the critics have managed to quiet the noise from most haters around the league.

However, there's still plenty of basketball minds that still don't believe the forward has what it takes to be an All-Star level player.

One basketball mind in specific who is still not sold on Sarr is Sam Vecenie of The Game Theory Podcast.

"If you made me set the over under on All-Star games for Sarr, you know over under 0.5, I'd probably be inclined to take the under even though I do think he's the more likely player from this class (2024) to make an All-Star game," Vecenie mentioned in a recent episode.

The Wizards fanbase has become hopeful for the player Sarr may develop into and if the fans hope to keep that faith, the last thing they'll want to hear is what Vecenie has to say when it comes to their building block.
