Throughout the struggles of the Washington Wizards season, it's been hard to find any positives from this group.

Holding a 15-51 record, there's still not much to be excited about, especially considering the team has seemingly blown whatever chance they had at earning the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. In fact, it seems like the team doesn't care much at all, if any about the upcoming draft with their recent stretch of wins.

Following their huge 126-123 win over the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night, it actually seems like the team finally cares more about wins than they do about positioning themselves for a strong offseason.

However, the pessimism around the team's winning recent winning doesn't seem to be bothering the team's players.

Jordan Poole optimistic about the Wizards future

Jordan Poole entered this season with the Wizards, but his future in Washington seemed unclear. Last year, he was benched before seasons end. This year, he put together a career-year in his starting role, but even then it never translated to winnning, until now.

Following the Wizards recent winning recipe, the tune of the teams future has seemingly turned around. Poole even went on record to share his optimism:

"The ball is rolling. Snowball effect right now. It'll take a little bit, but we got the right grooup, the right set up. We're in a really good situation right now. We're playing some fun basketball. It's something going tio be more competitive, better as we go."

The change of tune from Poole following the Wizards recent stretch of winning sounds awfully different than the position the team was in at this point last season. However, now the team finally seems to be at a point where they have the right personnel mixture of young players and veterans to guide themselves to a stretch of wins, and if not win, keep games competitive.

Obviously, it's hard for fans to be optimistic this time of the year when all they had to look forward to was the NBA Draft and the Wizards recent efforts have undoubtedly put their chances of earning the No. 1 overall pick at risk.

Despite that, if fans were to look at the bright side, it may be nice to hear that Poole and the team have finally found a sense of urgency. Of course, it would have been nice to see them make a winning push earlier in the season.

Nonetheless, if fans do want something to be positive about, they could consider looking at the positive side of things from Poole's perspective.
