Kyshawn George has been one of the lone bright spots for the Washington Wizards throughout this trying start to the season.

Washington has found themselves at the bottom of the NBA standings yet again in what many hoped to be a season in which Brian Keefe's young core could take a step in the right direction.

Throughout the team's rough opening to the season, Washington has found themselves being plagued with a pattern of injuries that have only put the team in position to have even more setbacks over the next few weeks.

Between the injuries to Bilal Coulibaly, Alex Sarr and now Tre Johnson, Washington has found themselves trying a variety of different lineup adjustments seeking a winning formula.

Throughout these lineup adjustments, Keefe and the coaching staff have attempted to find juice at the end of the bench which has led them to desperation, which resulted in the team starting second-round pick Jamir Watkins in Thursday's matchup against the Boston Celtics.

However, in the loss, the biggest takeaway didn't come from the performance of Watkins.

Instead, the biggest takeaway came from the opportunities not being taken advantage of by George.

Kyshawn George is missing out on a prime opportunity

George has impressed to start the season, averaging 15.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.6 assists, while shooting 46.6% from field goal range and 45.1% from beyond the arc amid his sophomore leap.

The Miami product has been by far the most efficient Wizard on the season and his offenisve potential is the exact reason why the Wizards coaching staff has encouraged him to be aggressive throughout the start of the season.

With the recent stretch of injuries, George has a prime opportunity to be even more aggressive than he has been throughout the first quarter of the season.

Unfortunately, George has failed to take advantage of the opportunity, even when he's found his rythym.

In the team's loss to Boston, George finished the game 5/7 from field goal range, including three shots from downtown.

It was clear early on that George was in store for a big night, but even when he was finding his spots and knocking down shots, the forward still managed to shy away from being aggressive.

The versatile forward has to make it a priority to be aggressive, especially considering he's the top option on the team at the moment offensively.

George learning to be aggressive on a regular basis could be major for his development in Washington moving forward and he needs to take advantage of the opportunity at hand.
