The Washington Wizards young core is filled with talented prospects, but only a select few standout as players that appear to be apart of the team's long-term plans.

Obviously, the two-way rise of French product and former No. 2 overall pick Alex Sarris set to be a defensive anchor for years to come. In addition, the 7-footer's emergence on the offensive end has only added to the hype around what his ceiling in the DMV could be.

In addition to Sarr, reigning No. 6 overall pick Tre Johnson has added plenty of hype about his potential fit in the team's future plans, especially alongside newly acquired star guard Trae Young in the backcourt.

However, arguably the most intriguing prospect that has a guarenteed role in the team's rebuilding plans is Kyshawn George, who continues to look more like a hidden gem by the day.

Not only is the versatile wing in the midst of a career-year, averaging 15.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists, while shooting an extremely efficient 46.8% from field goal range and 40.1% from beyond the arc.

The Miami product has continuously raised the ceiling for what both the fanbase and the team's decision-makers thought he could develop into and a large part of that is due to his increased confidence.

Following his impressive weekend for the Wizards, the front office continues to find more reasons to believe why George can be a long-term solution.

Kyshawn George makes Wizards history

In Saturday's loss to the Denver Nuggets, George put on an absolute show proving to be one of the most talented players on the court.

Nonetheless, his impressive performance wasn't just another strong game to add to his resume, but instead a historic showing that will put him in the team's history books forever.

George became the first player in team history to post the stat line above in a single game, which alone is an impressive feat considering the likes of players like Michael Jordan, Gilbert Arenas, John Wall, Bradley Beal and even Russell Westbrook who have suited up for Washington over the years.

The 22-year-old's versatility goes beyond the offensive side of the court and if he continues to play at this high of a level, Washington is going to have a hard time not penciling him as a frontcourt answer for years to come.

George has everything it takes to be a star, but if he keeps playing like this, he could be a cornerstone.
