Entering the season, the Washington Wizards and their fanbase are looking for every breakout candidate that has the chance to emerge as a big time player in the DMV this year.
Alex Sarr is an obvious candidate and just behind him, the excitement building for incoming rookie Tre Johnson has plenty of attention.
However, the one player the fanbase and the front office have quietly remained hopeful for a major leap during his sophomore season is Kyshawn George.
The Miami product showed flashes of just how good he could be if everything clicked for him.
George's floor seemed to be a rotational player that could serve as the glue guy every team needed, but his ceiling is what brought the optimism for his future in D.C.
As an oversized guard, with versatility on the wing courtesy of his size and extreme two-way potential, it's been clear from the jump that with the right development he could be more than just a role player.
One area of his game in specific that could be the difference-maker for his future is the work he puts in to perfecting his craft on the offensive end.
Not only has the coaching staff been aware of that, but the fanbase has also caught on to his potential.
Fortunately, George gave the update that everyone wanted to hear during Monday's NBA Media Day.
George focused on offensive aggressiveness this offseason
George quickly showed out in Summer League earlier this offseason and with his improved jumper, it became evident that if he became the type of player that is aggressive when the ball is in his hand, there's another level he can reach.
Clearly, George is more than aware of what he needs to work on and with his offseason work, fans may want to buy stock in the forward while they can.
Kyshawn George says he made a point of getting more aggressive over the summer.

Said he wants to create shots for himself and teammates and be less indecisive when he gets into the paint. Worked with the Wizards’ staff for most of the summer on that specifically. pic.twitter.com/bUYLJfzYvo
Talent wise, George already holds plenty of potential, but if he can develop the confidence to play an aggressive style of basketball, creating offensive looks for himself and teammates, while also making it a point of emphasis to attack the basket when he's in the paint, there's a clear path for the ACC alum to breakout.
Not only will an increased role give George the opportunity to showcase the work he's put in this offseason, but the chance to continue learning under veterans like CJ McCollum and Khris Middleton could position the former first-round pick to make a major leap this season.
George put the work in and if he can translate what he worked on this offseason to live game play, Washington may have an unexpected star on their hands.
