The Washington Wizards haven't shied away from being involved in the headlnes over the last few years.

In fact, Washington's front office has done the exact opposite with their flurry of moves reshaping the roster as the rebuild in the DMV continues.

The latest move putting the Wizards in the headlines comes from the team's gamble to swing a blockbuster trade for four-time All-Star Trae Young.

Young, who listed the Wizards as his preferred landing spot following his split with the Atlanta Hawks, arrives in Washington providing the team with an answer at the one position the team's front office has struggled to find a long-term solution at since the departure of John Wall.

Offering the Wizards' an elite playmaker with the ability to raise the ceiling of rising star Alex Sarr is the exact reason why the team's decison-makers opted to pull the trigger on a deal even within a season where earning a top-8 pick is at the upmost importance.

Considering the extremely discounted price it cost the Wizards, it's hard to argue that the swing isn't worth the cost.

However, some believe that while Young's arrival may be beneficial to the development of Sarr, it could play an equally yet negative impact on the development of other young players on the roster; more specifically the development of Kyshawn George.

Nonetheless, George made it clear that if anything, Young's arrival is going to help the Wizards' core.

Kyshawn George confident in Trae Young addition

Obviously, the forward's versatility has played a major role in the team's decision to give him an increased role on offense this season.

Not only is George an efficient shooter, but his ability to be a primary ball handler in Brian Keefe's system has paved the way for the Miami product to be one of the team's best playmakers on the season.

George's skillset makes him an extremely valuable asset, but at the same time, his development is directly linked to the forward having the ball in his hand.

With Young's arrival, many feared that the increase of touches for Young could lead to a decrease for George and ultimately stump his development.

Fortunately, George doesn't seem to share the same concerns.

In a recent interview, George revealed his thoughts on Young's arrival and exactly how the former top five pick will help the Wizards' young roster improve.

"It’ll make our jobs easier as young players for him to make plays to make us better," George said.

All that to say, the fact that George is confident in the arrival of Young may help ease the concern of fans who believe that star guard's addition could be a negative impact rather than a positive.
