The Washington Wizards haven't had much luck when it comes to the NBA Draft.

In fact, looking back on the last decade, Washington's hasn't had much success at all.

Between busts like Johnny Davis, being forced to watch arguably their best draft pick in recent years blossom elsewhere in Deni Avdija and facing the reality that Corey Kispert would long just be a 3-and-D role player, Washington's rebuild was long overdue.

With the new regime coming in, the Wizards had plenty of work to do and part of that is why the team's decision-makers of general manager Will Dawkins and President of Monumental Basketball Michael Winger opted to make the flurry of moves to build a core around a fresh new group of talent.

Obviously, the sophomore leaps of Alex Sarr and Kyshawn George have provided enough encouragement in its own right to suggests Washington is heading in the direction.

However, it's the team's reigning rookie class that continues to turn the most heads in terms of the talent Washington has on their roster.

In particular, No. 6 overall pick Tre Johnson is the player that's gaining the most attention as of late.

Johnson's has been on a recent tear as he continues to gain confidence at the next-level. With his fit in the team's starting lineup continuing to validate the Wizards' belief that he could be the star they drafted him to become, the Texas product continues to be mentioned in nearly every conversation as of late.

One comment in specific as of late grabbed my attention, and it came from an NBA Reporter covering the Wizards.

Tre Johnson compared to Bradley Beal for interesting reason

In a recent conversation on Monumental Sports Network between Wizards' reporters Bijan Todd and Chase Hughes, the two discussed the last time that the team saw an NBA-ready rookie like Johnson.

Todd's response? "Tre Johnson is the most NBA-ready Wizards rookie since Bradley Beal," the reporter claimed.

Bradley Beal will forever be known as one of the best Wizards in franchise history and although his time in the DMV has come to an end, there's no doubt about the importance he played in the team's history.

Selected No. 3 overall in the 2012 NBA Draft, the Florida product emerged as an immediate impact as a rookie averaging 13.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists, while shooting 41.0% from field goal range and 38.6% from beyond the arc.

Johnson rookie impact has been wildly similar, averaging 13.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists, while shooting 44.7% from field goal ranger and 39.8% from three.

The 19-year-old has perfect mixture confidence and talent that nearly reflect his start in D.C. to the early days of Beal.

For those reasons, Todd's take isn't exactly bold, but instead eye-opening.
