There's no denying that with the pace the Washington Wizards are on, they're more than likely going land in position to pick inside the top 10 or the NBA Draft once again.

Washington's lackluster start to the year has place them at the bottom of the NBA standings and as the team continues to navigate injury woes and inconsistent play, early signs suggest the Wizards losing ways won't stop anytime soon.

As a result, the Wizards fanbase has began to look ahead to the 2026 NBA Draft and a loaded class that's headlined by several intriguing prospects.

Of the names, Kansas guard Darryn Peterson and BYU forward AJ Dybantsa stand out as two early prospects to keep an eye on for the No. 1 overall pick, especially as the college season continues to unfold.

However, if we've learned anything about the Wizards, it's that when it comes to the NBA Draft Lottery, the team has bad luck.

That said, Washington likely won't be in a situation where they'll have the ability to take a swing at the No. 1 overall prospect, unless they somehow manage to turn their luck around and earn the top pick.

As a result, Washington needs to evaluate every top talent and throughout their scouting process, they need to make sure they're evaluating everything; even the toughest questions that need answers.

Cameron Boozer's biggest question could need answering

Outside of Peterson and Dybantsa, the next-best prospect who's gained an abundance of hype is Duke freshman Cameron Boozer.

Boozer has emerged as a top prospect in the draft proving the preseason hype more than warranted.

The 6-foot-9 forward is averaging 23 points, 9.9 rebounds and 3.8 assists, while shooting 55.9% from field goal range and 37.2% from beyond the arc.

Still, scouts have some doubt about his potential at the next level, which concerns should be taken into account by the Wizards as they could have the chance to land a premiere talent this offseason.

According to an anonymous NBA scout, there's one major question that Boozer has yet to answer.

Boozer has shown his dominance on full display throughout his first season with the Blue Devils, but he hasn't shown enough to make scouts believe he could be the top player on a championship team...yet.

Regardless, this evaluation doesn't mean much, but it is worth taking into consideration for a team like the Wizards who desperately need to make sure they land the best prospect they can in a pivotal offseason.
