The Washington Wizards are in the midst of a rebuild as the team looks ahead to the future.

With a record of 9-45 at the All-Star break, it doesn't come as a surprise that the team didn't receive any love from the league in terms of an All-Star selection. Even if they were, their top candidate would have been Jordan Poole who arguably didn't even put together All-Star numbers that would have earned him a spot ahead of the players who did get selected to a team.

However, with a bright future ahead for the young roster in Washington, there's a chance that the team will have a player on the rise in the conversation for an All-Star nod in the near future.

Assuming at least one of the Wizards young core manages to develop into an All-Star caliber player, here's a look at the three most likely candidates to earn the honor first.

3) Kyshawn George

Kyshawn George may be the most versatile talent on the Wizards roster as of today. The Miami product is 6-foot-8 with the ability to defend positions 1-4, facilitate at an underrated level and has a an offensive game that has potential to develop into an underrated part of his game.

The 21-year-old is averaging 8.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists on the season and with a big offseason of development, he has the tools to be a big time player for the Wizards in year two.

2) Bilal Coulibaly

Bilal Coulibaly has put together multiple performances this season that should have the Wizards front office and their fans excited for the future. The 6-foot-8 guard is already an underrated two-way player in the league, and his improved offense has shown plenty signs of encouragement.

The second-year man is averaging 12.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.5 assists on the season, and with another big offseason he could be knocking on the door of an All-Star appearance is he can continue to improve his game.

1) Alex Sarr

The Wizards took Alex Sarr No. 2 overall in last year's NBA Draft and so far he's shown exactly why. Sarr is a raw talent, but he has all the tools to be great. At 7-foot, the French product has shown flashes of dominance on defense already.

The French poduct's offensive game is a work in progress, but his ability to handle the ball and facilitate at his size is rare. If he can develop his jumper and add some muscle in the offseason, the sky is the limit for the 19-year-old.
