The Washington Wizards have plenty of decision to make in the upcoming months.
With two first round picks and multiple veterans at their disposal, Washington has plenty of assets to utilize in a potential deal before or during the NBA Draft.
That said, here's a look at the Wizards top three candidates to be traded in the next month.
1) Marcus Smart
Marcus Smart may be flying under the radar for one of the top assets the Wizards have to swing a deal this offseason.
The former Defensive Player of the Year is looked at as used goods by a lot of fans who have seen him go from a key piece on the Boston Celtics to the Memphis Grizzlies essentially sweeting the deal to offload him at the trade deadline in February.
However, that's not the case and I'm willing to bet there's a contending team out there that would prove he has more value than many may think.
Smart is set to make $21 million next season and when healthy, that contract could be a steal for the talented playmaker. Not only is the Oklahoma State product one of the top defenders in the league at the top of his game, but he's proven in the past to be a more than reliable three-point shooter and facilitator.
If the Wizards were to dangle him in potential deals, it wouldn't be a shock to see the 30-year-old be the first player the Wizards get calls on/deal ahead of or during the NBA Draft.
2) Jordan Poole
Jordan Poole may not be a player many think of to be moved, at least not this early in the offseason.
The guard is coming off his best season since joining Washington and arguably his career as a whole, averaging 20.5 points, 4.5 assists and 3 rebounds.
Poole went from being labeled as the worst contract in the league that Washington couldn't pay teams to take on to being a contract that many teams have considered making a move to bring in since his impressive campaign with the Wizards this year.
If a team is looking to land a young guard that offers explosive scoring, Poole could be the top candidate on that list of potentially available players and it wouldn't be a surprise to see Washington take advantage of his value.
3) Khris Middleton
Khris Middleton is a veteran with championship experience and versatility that the Wizards brought in at the trade deadline with the hopes of dealing away for additional assets at a later date.
However, Middleton struggled to stay healthy in his short stint with Washington making it seem like one of the tallest task of the offseason would be moving on from the forward.
Factoring in his looming $34 million player option, the Wizards will have a tough time moving on from the veteran assuming he does opt into the deal as expected. However, they could find a desperate team come draft time and offload him for the right price.
