The Washington Wizards season hasn't exactly been a lost one, but it's clear that the team will be competing for NBA Draft positioning this offseason rather than seeding in the NBA Playoffs.

Still, the team just over 25 games left down the stretch to get more insight on what the future holds in Washington.

Obviously, the development of the team's young core like sophomores Alex Sarr, Kyshawn George and Bub Carrington is the focal point.

As if the development of players such as rookie standout Tre Johnson and third-year man Bilal Coulibaly, who's coming off arguably his most aggressive game of his career in Sunday's loss to the Charlotte Hornets.

However, the team also has a prime opportunity to see the glimpses of their future beyond the team's young core, which entails the likes of the team's new superstar duo of Trae Young and Anthony Davis.

Davis has no clear timetable for his return and the chance he misses the rest of the season seems more likely than it does unlikely.

As for Young, recent updates suggests that his return could be on the horizon and that alone added excitement to the team's fanbase.

Now, the latest post from the guard only adds to the excitement about when the new era in Washington could begin.

Trae Young hinting at return?

Last week, updates surfaced from the Wizards revealing that Young was cleared to increase on-court activity.

Obviously, that update in its own right offered some positives surrounding the potential debut for the Oklahoma product.

To add fuel to the fire, Young's recent social media post teases that his return to play could be sooner than originally thought:

Washington has two intriguing dates that would make sense for a debut with the Wizards this week alone.

With two matchups against Young's former squad in the Atlanta Hawks approaching on the calender, the former top five pick could be poised to suit up in Wizards' threads for the first time against the team that drafted him would make complete sense.

The chance to get revenge against the team who seemingly gave up on him and prove he's still a top player in the league would offer the perfect debut situation.

At the same time, the biggest factor is if he'll be cleared to make his debut this quickly after ramping up his on-court work as of late.

And the obvious scenario where Young would prefer to make his debut with his new squad at home in Capital One Arena.

Nonetheless, when players post cryptic messages as simple as an hourglass emjoi, fans can't help but speculate.
