The Washington Wizards may finally beeing some good luck fall their way with the latest update's surrounding Ace Bailey's NBA Draft process.
With the NBA Draft less than a week away, team's are starting to finalize their boards and get their game plans set in motion for draft day.
Outside of Cooper Flagg and Dylan Harper, who's projected to be the top two picks on June 25th, the rest of the board is about as unpredictable as mock drafts suggest.
The Philadelphia 76ers hold the No. 3 overall pick, but they've yet to zero in on their preferred selection at this spot. Furthermore, it's not clear if Philly is even planning to select in the top three considering rumors suggest that Daryl Morey could be considering trade down scenarios.
However, the latest updates surrounding the No. 3 pick doesn't have as much to do with who the Sixers are leaning towards but more about the fact that projected top five pick Ace Bailey has seemed to have little interest in headed to Philadelphia following his decision to cancel a planned visit with the team.
To make the situation even stranger, Bailey is the lone U.S. based player that has yet to officially meet with any of the 30 NBA teams in the league as the countdown to the NBA Draft day continues.
Many are wondering if the Rutgers' standout and his camp are attempting to force his way to join a preferred team, but it's hard to truly understand the motive behind his lack of interest in meeting NBA teams considering he that was the motive, why wouldn't he have at least met with one squad?
Behind the 76ers, the Charlotte Hornets, Utah Jazz and Washington Wizards are all positioned and hoping that a top prospect of Bailey's skillset is made available to them when it's their turn to pick.
In fact, ESPN's Jonathan Givony name dropped the Wizards as a team that could be aggressive to move up in the draft to select Bailey should he fall.
A move that would be an absolute no-brainer for Washington following their Cooper Flagg botch in May courtesy of the results in the NBA Draft Lottery.
The Wizards have plenty of assets at their disposal to make a bold trade to leap frog the teams ahead of them and take a swing on the star potential of Bailey, which alone is what make many weary about passing up on his talents regardless of his off-court shenanigans.
