Thomas Bryant has remained as one of the best free agents available for the last couple months.
Since departing from the Washington Wizards, the big man has struggled to find a role for him that allows him to make the same impact elsewhere that he did in the DMV.
As a former collegiate star, the Indiana product showed plenty of versatility during his time with the Wizards.
In four seasons with the Wizards, Bryant developed into a starting big man and although he didn't prove to be a star center, he showcased that he could be a more than reliable front court option.
The former second-round pick tried his hand on the open market, taking his talents back to Los Angeles to join the Lakers where his career first started.
However, things didn't seem to pan out like he hoped which eventually led to him bouncing around the league.
With stops in Denver and Miami it looked like Bryant's days as a trusted impact player was behind him.
Eventually Bryant landed in Indiana following the injury to Isaiah Jackon that forced the Pacers hand to bolster the depth in the frontcourt.
The big man found a crucial role on the Pacers bench, helping his new team make a cinderella run to the NBA FInals.
However, his stint with the Pacers didn't serve him well, at least when it came to his availability in the open market.
Reports surfaced that the big man was an option for the New York Knicks, before the team pivoted to the signings of two other former Wizards in Malcolm Brogdon and Landry Shamet.
Bryant's luck seemed to be running dry before the Cleveland Cavaliers gave him the opportunity he's desperately been seeking the entire offseason.
With the Cavs' looking to bolster their depth in the frontcourt, Bryant stays back in the Eastern Conference with yet another contending team that will give him the opportunity to compete for a championship once again this coming season.
Not only will Bryant get the chance to compete in the NBA Finals, but he'll have the chance to keep the Wizards' unlucky streak alive if he's able to help Cleveland reach the promise land this coming year.
Bryant isn't headed to Cleveland to start and he may not even have a huge role on a loaded Cavs roster, but he will serve as the insurance head coach Kenny Atkinson has been searching for in the frontcourt.
All that to say, Bryant's run in free agency is officially over.
