The Washington Wizards return to action on Thursday night with a matchup against the San Antonio Spurs.

Washington enters this battle looking to start their first win streak of the season after knocking off the struggling Indiana Pacers in their last game over the weekend.

Coming into this battle, the Wizards find themselves at the bottom of the NBA standings following inconsistent and underwhelming play from head coach Brian Keefe's squad.

However, arguably the biggest reason for the Wizards poor start to the season has been the team's inability to stay healthy.

Between the injury bug that's constantly plagued the team and the fact that the young players on the roster have failed to find their rhythm, it's grown abundantly clear that the Wizards are destined to compete for the No. 1 overall pick rather than a spot in the NBA Play-In Tournament.

Fortunately for Washington, their injury luck may finally be turning around.

Alex Sarr and Bilal Coulibaly removed from injury report

Among the lone bright spots for the Wizards throughout this trying start to the season has been the emergence of second-year man Alex Sarr.

The former No. 2 overall pick has looked like one of the best young players in the league this season, averaging 19.1 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists, while shooting 51.5% from field goal range and 34.6% from beyond the arc.

Sarr's return to the floor will be major, especially considering how thin the Wizards have been in the frontcourt over the last couple weeks with Corey Kispert, Khris Middleton and Bilal Coulibaly all dealing with injuries of their own.

Speaking of Coulibaly, the fellow French product joins Sarr in his removal from the injury report.

Coulibaly hasn't had the most impressive start to the season, which has been labeled as a pivotal year in the former top 10 pick's career.

However, it's clear that the forward's defensive presence has become a major lift any time he's on the court, even if his offensive game is still proving to be inconsistent.

WIth both Sarr and Coulibaly deemed eligible, it'll be a huge boost for the Wizards ahead of their matchup against the Spurs who are led by a dynamic french talent of their own in Vuctor Wembanyama.

Sarr will have the chance to prove he can go toe-to-toe with the future face of the league, while Coulibaly will have his hands full with the explosive backcourt for San Antonio.
