The Washington Wizards haven't shied away from being aggressive on the trade market over the last few seasons.

General manager Will Dawkins has turned the Wizards into one of the most active teams in the league, not just with his bold swings ahead of the trade deadline to land Trae Young and Anthony Davis, but also for working the phones over the last couple of years.

Obviously, Washington's roster is in a much different spot than it was at this time last year, and with the extension for Young, selection of AJ Dybantsa with the No. 1 overall pick and the expectancy that Davis will remain in D.C. after several rumors suggested differently, the Wizards talent for the first time in over a decade has too much talent.

And with teams around the league desperately looking to improve this summer, the Wizards may actually be one of the first calls for once.

Wizards roster overload could cause offseason trades

Figuring out the Wizards' starting five for next season, assuming there are no drastic moves, wasn't hard to do.

Given what we saw from Washington over the course of the last season, it feels safe to say that an opening night lineup of Trae Young, Kyshawn George, AJ Dybantsa, Anthony Davis, and Alex Sarr can be expected.

Beyond that, though, it's hard to figure out exactly what the rotation will look like for the Wizards.

Washington has a lot invested in the development of former No. 6 overall pick Tre Johnson, and Bub Carrington is too good not to have on the floor.

And that's not even mentioning Bilal Coulibaly, whose defensive upside makes him a player that the Wizards are still hopeful can take an offensive jump.

Factoring the three names above into the mix, that's already eight players in the rotation that would take up the majority of the minutes for Brian Keefe.

Names not mentioned? Will Riley, Cam Whitmore, Justin Champagnie, Tristan Vukcevic, D'Angelo Russell, Jaden Hardy, and Julian Reese, assuming Washington worked to bring the rookie standout back.

All that to say, there's going to be several odd men out entering the offseason, and this is all assuming that a desperate team doesn't make a big offer for AD over the next couple of weeks.

Washington will have to determine which players will take up the bulk of the available minutes next season.

Regardless, it feels clear which players are safe and who could be on the outside looking in when the offseason comes to an end.
