For years, the Washington Wizards were reluctant to press the restart button and now the fanbase is wishing the team did it sooner.

Then again, the Wizadry from the team's new front office regime may be the biggest reason for the team's sudden rise to relevancy considering how often the team has found themselves in the headlines as of late.

Looking at the behind the scene orchestration from general manager Will Dawkins and President of Basketball Operations Michael Winger, it's hard to label the two executives as anything other then masterminds.

Not only did the team manage to net the ultimate return for Bradley Beal and Kyle Kuzma, but they managed to do it in a way that needs to be talked about.

Washington has assembled one of the most promising young cores in the NBA over the last couple years with the selections of Alex Sarr, Kyshawn George, Tre Johnson and even Bub Carrington, who's slowly but surely coming into his own down the stretch.

The Wizards young core is disciplined and they've put together enough flashes to not only regain the attention of a fanbase who's been in poverty over the last decade, but they put themselves on the map as a destination that began to attract legitimate talent.

Which is exactly why the Wizards front office deserves recognition for their ability to reconstruct this roster over the last couple seasons.

Wizards added 2 stars to promising young core

Not only has Washington assembled an impressive team full of talented prospects, but along the way they gathered the ammunition to make a bold move when the opportunity presented itself.

With the acquistion of Trae Young for an extremely discounted price that only cost them the expiring contract of CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert, Washington already deserved their flowers for the absolute heist of a deal.

Now, with the recent acquisition of superstar big man Anthony Davis, Washington's front office continues to put on an absolute clinic over the course of this rebuild.

The front office has quietly loaded up the ammunition to make a bold move, but the confidence they've shown in the core they've built to make the moves now speaks volumes.

Especially when you consider the fact that Washington didn't use ANY of their own draft picks to acquire Davis.

If anyone would have said that the Wizards would land both Trae Young and Anthony Davis at this time last year without having to forfeit any of their young core or draft capital, you would have been looked at crazy.

Now, the Wizards' front office has put together the roster gymastics that make their future look even brighter than it already was.
