For decades, the Washington Wizards have been viewed as one of the biggest laughing stocks in the NBA.

After years of being stuck in the constant cycle of mediocrity, Washington seemed to be. at the absolute bottom when it came to the standards across the league.

Between years of neglecting that a rebuild was needed, Washington's inability to land top value from their best assets ultimately set the team back years when the new regime finally pulled the trigger on a rebuild.

Despite that, Washington's used the last few seasons to assemble one a roster full of young talent and as abundance of ammo to use moving forward to continue altering their depth chart.

Between their financial flexibility and surplus of draft assets, the Wizards are in a good spot moving forward.

Not only because of the team's progress in righting the previous regimes wrongs, but because of the simple fact they've built one of the best young cores in the league.

On Monday night, the Wizards' franchise-tying record didn't just prove they're headed in the right direction, but it put the team's young group on the national spotlight they deserve.

3 Wizards earn spot on NBA Rising Stars roster

As NBA All-Star Weekend looms, rosters are slowly but surely being revealed.

For the Wizards, rising star Kyshawn George had already made his Rising Star aspirations crystal clear, but now, he finds himself with two of his teammates taking place in the lone game that recognizes the top young talent in the league.

Both George and Alex Sarr have been named to the 2025 Castrol Rising Stars game being recognized as two of the best sophomores the league has to offer.

Joining the Wizards sophomore duo in the Rising Stars game is rookie standout Tre Johnson, who's taken the league by storm as of late showcasing his elite shot-making ability on a consistent basis.

Washington finds themselves not only seeing a franchise record for most players in an NBA Rising Star game tied, but they also just found the NBA validating everything that both President of Monumental Basketball Michael Winger and general manager Will Dawkins have built over the last few years.

The Wizards have the talent to be in the mix sooner rather than later, and that's not even factoring in the blockbuster addition of Trae Young.

Washington's on the rise and with the team's recognition set to be in full effect during NBA All-Star Weekend, the rest of the league just received a very loud message.
