The Washington Wizards' offseason has already been filled with several flashy moves to round out the team's revamped depth chart.
Washington inked Trae Young to a long-term extension, drafted the top overall prospect in AJ Dybantsa, bolstered their frontcourt with a former No. 1 overall pick in Deandre Ayton and reunited with veteran forward Khris Middleton to shore up their bench unit.
Based on the latest update from NBA Insider Michael Scotto, Washington isn't finished making moves as the team still has their eyes on adding another point guard to back up Young moving forward.
"Elsewhere, the Wizards will look to add a backup point guard behind Young to round out their roster, HoopsHype has learned," Scottto reported.
Based on the reported interest in a reunion with Russell Westbrook in the early stages of free agency and a potential deal with free agent Gabe Vincent, Scotto's report suggests Washington is still very much in the hunt to add a reliable playmaker on the bench.
If that's the case, Bub Carrington should at least be somewhat concerned heading into year three.

Carrngton was selected with the No. 14 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, and while he's shown flashes of his versatility throughout his first two seasons as a Wizard, the Pittsburgh product has yet to show the consistency or efficiency Washington hoped to see during his development.
Obviously, a move to shore up the backcourt doesn't exactly spell disaster for the young playmaker, especially considering that behind Young and Carrington, the only true point guard on the roster is Sharife Cooper, who's currently signed to a two-way deal.
At the same time, Carrington in theory should be enough for the Wizards to feel comfortable rolling into the season with him as the backup guard, and the fact they're flirting with the idea of adding a Westbrook or a Vincent feels telling that they don't believe Carrington is ready to serve as the team's primary backup.
Washington has real playoff expectations heading into next season, and while Carrington is a part of those plans as of now, the desire to add another guard feels telling on how the team currently feels about their former lottery pick.
Could it just be for insurance reasons in case of injury? Yes
A signing could also be made with the idea that competition will bring the best out of the young guard.
Regardless of the reasons, Carrington's spot in the rotation is far from a lock, and he has to treat it that way because Will Dawkins has made it clear that moving forward, the Wizards will be deciding which young players fit their future and which need a fresh start.
